I have a 3 month old baby and I feed him every 3 hours. How many times should a three month old baby feed in given 24 hour day. Also how much ounces should the baby take?

I wonder what other moms of 3 month infants do? Do you wake up you baby every three hours to feed (expect during nights)?

when babies are hungry, they wont let their mommies sleep,,so dont worry :))

make sure to feed him nicely before he sleeps.so that he avoid waking up at night and asking feeds,,its good to try to cultivate good habits as soon as you see your baby is ready for it. night feeds are necessary actually upto 6months, no worries but babies have slept well without feeds thru 8hours, some from birth too ! it dpends individually.

and for 4months, he will go every 4hours, then it wll be every 5hours, but the intake per feed will keep increasing to 1oz,or 5-10mins extra time on bf, depending on your milk supply !!!!!

savitha replied. follow the current schedule. r u waking your baby right now. i hv a 5 mt old son. his paed ahd asked me to feed on demand. initially his scedule was a bit erratic. but by 2nd month he started following 4 hrly schedule. he wld wake up on his own.now ur kids 3mts old. don't wake him in night. what my son's paed said was its ok to wait for abt 5-6 hrs in day time & night can go up to 8 hrs. better not to wake him at night if he is not waking up. a 3 mt old baby shd drink abt 4 oz 6-7 times. don't worry, babies are more selfsufficient than we think. they will never go hungry or cut down on their sleep!!!
