teething during molars or premolars is really worst time for babies. there is not much you can do soothe them.
wat ever you are doing is good enough,,,carry on with that.
you are lucky your baby gets calm by tylnol, mine was fussy even after tylnol and then after 3 hours motrin...finally, i gave her an icecube in her mouth, i wanted to soothe her even if she catches cold i wasnt bothered,,she was bleeding that bad.her gums and teeth were on a tug of war for every teeth she had..
icecube made her calm in just 5 mins and finally she slept after crying for 5 long hours...this is now my everytime story for all teeth she had..
i avoid giving icecube to her to avoid cold,,only when she is really mad.
however, rubbing honey is not adviced by dr in US but india many people are doing it so not bad..if done carefully there is no problem.
also there is gum soother called orajel night time and day time relief,,often they come in combined pack,,they are handy and baby like the taste of it,,,its not hard to put the gel in their mouth,,they allow it.
other than that,,cold teethers or any hard piece of vegetable like raw carrot, raw lauki,,from the fridge,,will help them calm..they will keep biting the vegies and because they are raw and too hard for them, they cant manage to eat them or even make bites of it,,or choke it..also they are cold and hard, they enjoy biting them.
just make sure there are no seeds in vegies...
this is all i am doing to calm my baby..
good luck to you.
