Hi Archie and others,
I am the one who has had 2 early miscarriages in the last 8 months. Since I have very short LP I have also been given prometrium after ovulation. I was also asked to take additional folic acid. This month I ovulated very late I think between CD 24. TO CD 28. I typically have a 31 - 34 day cycle. So I started taking prometrium (progesterone) only on CD 28. My temps were high after ovulation and are now higher because of the prometrium ... I plan to take a HPT after day 34. My question is when do I stop taking (progesterone) prometrium if I did not get pregnant this cycle. Also will progesterone delay my periods ?

Simba Simba replied. Thanks Archie. So you suggest I wait for 14 days past ovulation before taking HPT. So that means its day 42 for me. My periods always come by day 34 for most times .So Till day 42 then should I continue progesterone ? . Also if I'm not pregnant will I get my periods when taking the progesterone. This is my first cycle on progesterone so I have soooo many questions.

do not test on CD34. Test only around CD44. You must not test before 10 - 14 days post ovulation because chances of getting negative test is high.

if you don't get period by 15th day post ovulation take test and call your OB so that be positive or negative test. Your call would be for prenatal or withdrawing supplement depending on hpt status.
