Hey just check with your Doc about the quantity of fat you can give your child coz main function is with liver and at tis young age it would be tough for a child to digest too much fat!!!!!

well i guess 2-3 spoons of ghee is not much for a baby.Infants/babies have a very high energy requirement, and they have a restricted volume of food that they can digest, The only way to get the energy density of a food up is to have a high amount of fat.

for Roma
Toddlers should get at least 30 percent of their calories from fat for energy and growth needs.

I will definately try all this. Homemade desi ghee is ideal or any market one? How can i cook chicken and give her.
I am little concerend whether she'll be able to digest fatty food easily at this age.

waiting for ur reply.

babies n toddlers have a really goqd metabolism so dont even worry about the reasonable quantity of fat which u r giving ur child. their body requires a lot of fat at this stage, good luck

hi Arni,

I make ghee at home which is fresh n infact turns out to be cheaper than the market ones. for chicken cut it into bite size pieces, marinade with lill salt n sm chilli powder(if ur kid is able to tolerate chill). then u cld either pressure cook( 2 whistles n 2 minutes on low, add very lill water for the chicken) or pan fry with oil. i m sure she wil luv it. my sons luv non veg n its gud because it offers them sm essential nutrients which smtms veg food cant:P. u can also give chicken drumsticks with bone, she will love eating it on her own. take care

hi,
put her on whole milk, give her yogurt made from whole milk. include cheese in her diet. dont be shy of adding ghee in her diet(2-3 tablespoons is good enough per day) apart from that give her good amounts of proteins(chicken, eggs, lentils). i m from northern part of india. there they say if u have banana and milk together, u can increase ur weight. so u cld give her banana shake n c if it works. good luck!!! and make sure u also include veggies n fruits in her diet.
