My daughter was a young mother having 2 children by the time she was 18. She lived with us until the house next door opened up for rent, she moved there with the two kids so I could watch them while she worked or did errands. One day she was having her siblings for dinner to celebrate her new independence and needed to make a run to the grocery store for a few items. Her sister offered to watch the kids so she could get in and out of the store quickly. Her car was being fixed so her friend had lent her his car to use until she got hers back. It was a small car and not really suitable for her family but it got her to work and back home. I was taking advantage of a quiet house for the first time in a few years and was napping on the sofa. We had a roofing business, so my husband and son were off doing a small job. Sometime during my nap my son came crashing through the front door and woke me with his yelling. ?MOM!! HEATHER HAS HAD AN ACCIDENT!!? My husband and son had driven up on the accident and thought the car looked familiar but weren?t sure since it was in such bad shape. They stopped anyway to see if they could help and found our daughter in the driver?s seat. My husband had sent my 14-year-old son home in our car to get me. I ran on instinct. I was instantly awake and running to the car before I even realized that my 14 -year-old son had driven home to get me. Our town had a lot of pretty steep hills and one of them was on the road to where she was. I think I was speeding, I don?t recall but my son told me after it all that I was driving so fast the tires were squealing when I turned the corner. I had also apparently jumped out of the car on the lower part of that hill before stopping the car completely. It?s a good thing my son had great reflexes! I couldn?t think of anything when I saw the car though, my child was in that car! It was crumpled. The front of the car was under it somehow and pushed back so that you couldn?t see the windshield. All I could think was, ?Oh, my God! She never wears a seat belt! Please, God, let her be OK!? She was OK, and not just OK, it was a miracle she didn?t die! She came out without a scratch! I couldn?t believe my eyes! After we had her checked out, I asked her what made her use her seatbelt this time when she usually doesn?t. She answered, ?Cody. He came running out of the house to yell at me to put it on and wouldn?t leave the car till I did?. My grandson was only 2 years old at the time and I thought it was such a grown-up thing for him to do! He was born a preemie. He was only 27 weeks gestation and weighed 1 lb 14 oz when he was born. We almost lost him several times but he was such a little trooper and overcame every obstacle. When I had the opportunity to ask him a few days later, what made him think to make his mom put her seatbelt on his answer gave me chills! He said, ?The angel told me to and, Grandma, he was very loud! He was loud when he said go now! Tell mommy to put her seatbelt on!? I asked him how he knew it was an angel (he was only 2!) and he told me, ?It was the same angel in the hospital with me. He has a hairy face and put me in his lap and rocked me when I was sick?. While my grandson was fighting for his life in a hospital 130 miles from my home, my father was losing his battle to cancer 100 miles in the opposite direction from my house. At one point I became so overwhelmed with worry and grief that I ran into the field behind my house and screamed at God that he couldn?t take both of them. I needed one of them. Four months after my grandson was born, my father died. Cody came home from the hospital 2 weeks after my father passed. He became our miracle baby; now I know why.

kids fitness through play and games
since i have been training young kids for motor skills and fun fitness for a while i see that kids develop most of their sports movements then and as early as 4 years. parents need to be aware that forcing kids into sports at a very early age will not get them far, as they end up losing interest quickly. ... - Sunny Singh [View Message]
