Posting this topic again as no one answered the last time....Pls let me know

I am 27..and trying for 2 years..Iam visiting an RE for fertility treatment currently...

I am confused with the blood work that they call me for....

pls let me know if this sounds right:
Oct 6: went for blood work: checked for Hormones, Thyroid and Chlamydia...All came normal

Oct 13: Cycle day 1

Oct 25: called for blood work. and had a Vaginal Ultrasound..all looked good

Estrogen:104
Progestrone:1.1
LH:18
Left Ovary:18 mm


Oct 27: called for blood work again

Estrogen:186
Progestrone:1.9
LH:54

Doc said u'll ovulate and did an IUI...So far it seems fine...they 've called me on Nov 4th to check progestrone.

They also tested me for HIV and Syphillis , Hapatitis which are -ve...I am confused....What do these tests have to do with trying to get pregnant...I was never told that these tests will be done..

I hope my doc is not taking me for a ride.

I have been following the posts on this website regularly but never really posted a message before..

I got concerned b'coz normally doctors tell you what tests will be conducted from the blood and what to expect...

this came in as a surprise...

plus this is all new for me....thought i'll chekc with some one who knows what the process is.

archie replied. do not question on practice ever, because Dr. will do what's necessary for your case.
If you got pregnant right in first few cycles you would have been through battery of tests. the fact you have failed raises issue and more blood work.

What tests are done are basically to know how follicular phase is how your ovaries are responding. I think you sound fantastic from the reports.

Yes the Nov 4th is good idea to take hCG and progesterone count.

sexually transmitted diseases are known to delay the ttc process and that's why you were tested for HIV and syphillis, hepatitis, good side you are fine with them as well.

I think in Us, they should tell you if they are going to test for HIV,etc.
they also did it for me bcoz i think they want to make sure that none of it should affect the baby,

BUT AGAIN I AM NOT TOO SURE ABOUT IT
