Hi,
I hv a 7 mnth old baby. He takes Gerber 1st stage foods and formula. I am trying to introduce idli and rice + dall + rasam. I mash it really well but he does not take it. He wants it to be a fine paste. If there are little bits then he gags. Any suggestions!!!

Dear Hema,

Try One by one , may be dal with rice and smash completely it in the mixie before introduce it otherwise definitely he will gag. Try to introduce lumpy food after 8 months coz then they will then to use their gums better.

Regards,
Indu

Your child is only 7 months old, he is still too small. You shd not even think of giving him solid food, wait till he is 1 year old. After he is 1 year old u can start with idli etc
