Hii,
Your baby is only 5month old.Usually doctors advise not to feed citrus fruits until 1 year as they tend to be allergic.also the thumb of rule is like this first 4 months to 6 months breast feed is enuf ,then start iron fortified cereals, then vegetables and then fruit juices.start a new food only one at a time.and see which one she is allergic to.for eg.,if u r starting ragi this week ,dont introduce any other new food..in that week.see for symptons like rash, diarhoea or cough.rash is usually the main symptom.so see n avoid that particular food.

Hi,

Here in canada, they advise not to give orange, lemon, etc until after 1 year. So i would advise you to discontinue giving your baby oranges tomatoes, etc for a while and see if the rash vanishes. Take him to a pediatrician for evaluation of eczema. If eczema is there, then aveeno is a good lotion if you r in canada or US. Let me know if u have any questions.

Thanks.

Hi Rekha,
Did your doc tell you what food allergies your baby has? It might be related to eczema. Kids normally are allergic to one of the following: Milk, Soy, wheat, eggwhites & fish. You can eleminate one item from your intake at a time and see if it makes any difference to your baby. It is trial and error untill you find the correct ingredient.
Plus massage the baby only with olive oil. If you are in US then use cetaphil soap or liquid to bath him. Always keep your baby moisturized by applying moisturiser 2 to 4 times a day. Aveeno is a good one.
Best of luck,
Reshma J
