I hope u remember me as i am trying for 2nd one and i was on clomid for last 5 months and last week we went to an infertility specialist and he suggest me to scan my fallopian tubes and i was browsing internet abut this scanning and came to know that first they will put some fluid in my utrus.I am so scared about this. Can u please tell me what is the full procedure of this scanning? Is it related only for fallopian tubes or can determine PCOS???I didn't hear about this in my family and even for me also but got scare.
Please give me some information...Did anybody go through this scanning please share ur experience.

well, the HSG is uncomfortable but necessary. So when u are lying there, picture yourself holding your baby and forget about everything else...

hi dear,

i hate to say this but welcome to the board.

Guess Hopingfortejas has enlightened u abt. HSG. Yaa its a bit of discomfort but for gaining some things in life we have to go thru it all.

As regards knowing the result of HSG, well, u will get to know abt. it, i guess, at the time the HSG is thru. Atleast i came to know abt. it as soon as HSG was over on me. My doc said tht both my tubes are patent. So i knew there was no blocks in them.

Neways you take care and Keep praying to God. All will go well.

Do let us know what happened abt. HSG and all.

Hey

Hi,
Are you taking abt HSG (they inject dye to see if fallopian tibes are blocked..)

i have had this procedure done and can give you alittle detail abt it, it is very much like a pap smear , slightly more uncomfortable than that.

they inject the dye through a caterer and take xrays. when the dye goes in, there will be a slight bloating sensation, something like minor cramps during periods...

i would recommend taking apain killer sometime before teh procedure , my doc gave me that ..

hope this info helps and BTW it is a very useful procedure since it is no use taking fertility drugs of the tubes are blocked..
