hi shreya,
my daughter is 13months old and she too does the same(i.e wont eat unmashed food). but whenever we eat chapathi in front of her she wud want a bite,so we now give her chapathi dipped in warm milk. she takes them.you can try this once. and you can also mash the rice(after taking it imm from the cooker) with spoons and add dhal(like a gravy) to it and give her.the consistency is not like its mashed in blender but stil they can swallow it coz we slowly need to practice them with unmashed food.
hope this was useful

Hi, Shreya. Some of the things that can be given are; boiled and mashed vegetables like spinach, potatoes, carrots, peas, pumpkin. You can mash all together or few at a time. Potatoes added give a good texture. Can add milk if otherwise it becomes too dry to eat. You can also add these to boiled rice or pasta. For pasta and rice you can add a little tomato puree in butter and then add the rest of the food to it. Secondly can mash fruits in a blender like apples, bananas, grapes, pears mangoes, all can be given to this age group. Can also add mashed fruits to yogurt. Try to use natural sweetners like honey if needed. Keep salt also to a minimum. Grated cheese can too be added to vegetables. Dalia / broken wheat can be also given boiled in whole milk. Hope some of this is helpful.
