Dear friends

I have an 11 month old daughter. she is quite fond of thick soups. I was wanting to know a recipie for almond soup. Also any other thick soup which i can make at home and is nourishing for her. Also pls suggest in what way can i give her dry fruits - almonds, cashewnuts???

hi nidhi,
if you are just looking for thick soups, what i suggest is take any soup (tomatoe, carrot, spinach, etc). saute a little maida flour in butter and add a little milk and then add your pureed soup, it will become a thick kind consistency. so it depends on you....you can also add the thin soup to baby cereal and feed your baby.
about the dryfruits.....if your baby has a sweet tooth, then try maiking 'barfi' out of the mentioned dry-fruits. thats powder them and add mava and sugar. in you are here in the US, then mava is a little difficult to get. try in the indian grocer. make sure its good. also in the health stores or in your local grocery store, in the health food section(USA), you get almond milk. i have never tried it, but i've heard mom's writing on other sites, that their kids like it.
let me knwo how things work.
