the main sign of night terrors are sudden waking from sleep with screaming. The child is frightened and cannot go back to sleep easily. The child is unable to reactions and other factors or stimuli. This episode of night terror is forgotten in the morning.

The actual cause of night terrors may be being over tired or as said by V. Rajesh an inherited problem. It can also be due to illness or stress. some medications may also lead to night terrors.

Night terrors are most probably an inherited problem. It is similar to having a bad dream during sleep. The child does not remember anything the next morning. It occurs in deep sleep. It causes a lot of disturbances in sleep.
