even my baby was lookign at me strangely when i make her to sit in potty at first bcuz she iz getting bored to sit dumb in a seat without any activity.so i bought a horse headed potty n sticked many tatoos on it n some beads in horse horn.so her potty iz now colorful.she loves to watch those colors sitting in potty..so if ur baby potty iz plain ordinary one n u juz cant buy another funny potty...buy a baby play gym n keep in front of ur baby's potty.so that she wunt get bored .n sing aloud for her.

Wow Anon,

Its great you managed to potty train your baby of 5.5months, my daughter is 9months old and i have still not started potty training seriously with her. I tried to put her in the potty but she just doesnt like to sit there, i also tried holding her on my feet, that too didnt work, i am really eager to train her. I also did the cloth nappy part to understand her bowel cycle but she is not very consistent, sometimes there is too much gap and sometimes within a nappy change she will pee again. Also her poop timing is erratic. Now for the last week she has been pooping in the afternoon.

Need ur help, Anon

my baby too urinates when i remove her diaper..so i decided to stop disposable diapers bcuz we cannot know how often they are urinating...so for the first few few days i used cloth diapers for her.then after 3 or 4 days i came to know that she iz urinating once in evevry 45 min to 1 hr and immedialty after every feed..so watch ur baby using cloth ones...then if u get to know their time..then remove cloth n make them sit in potty supporting them well with ur hands.at first they will blink at us why we made them to sit in a toy..but make an \";issh\";sound when u make her sit in potty or jus gently tickle her belly button which gives them an urge to urinate..after 3 or 4 days they learns that thiz toy iz to urinate..and if u can know ur baby iz going to poop make her sit in potty.my baby usually remains very calm b4 pooping, even stops feeding, playing etc juz 10 min b4 pooping..so thatz how i know that shez gonna poop..so watch ur baby too.most babies will shake thier body a loot b4 pooping.dunt use wipes to clean baby's bottom.wash thier bottom with tap water after every time they poops n clean wid wipes after they urinates everytime.but better u wash evrytime after they urinates.if u potty train ur baby earlier they r less likely to get urinary infection bcuz their bottom will b mess free without litres of urine in diaper and messup poop for loong time in diaper.as ur baby crossed 5 months she might have roled over so if they poops n rolls over bacterias will easily enter thier genitals frm messup poop frm thier bottom..i wish u all the best..

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi Karthik this is a serious issue and you should look into this matter very seriously as its concern with your own child and you cannot let things go, have a good consulting done by a good doctor.... - Amaira [View Message]
