Feeding:Feeding bottle....

Hi All,

I have a 4 month old son. I am planning to return to work by Jan and before that I need to get my son used to having formula milk from the feeding bottle. From the past few days I have been trying but he just refuses to drink from it. To get him used to the taste of formula milk I tried feeding him by spoon. He does swallow, put later just pukes the entire thing. What do I do? I need to get this right before returning to work as it isn't possible for me to get home in the middle just to feed the baby once I am at work. Please help.....

Alka.

Hi ,

Hope this isn't driving you nuts. I also struggled with formula milk although bottle wasn't so much of a problem.

I was trying with Nestle NAN1 and my son really didn't like it. He cried a lot while having it. I finally gave him regular homogenized milk and he likes it better.

Getting used to the bottle may be tougher - have you tried gving him breast milk in a bottle ? Maybe nipple size needs to be bigger - he may not be getting enough flow. Also, check for lumps in the formula milk after mixing it - it may be blocking the nipple hole.

Best of luck ! and do post how you're doing.
