Bowel and Bladder Movements:green curdles in poopie

MY baby is only a week old.............yesterday evening she had yellowish poopie but had green color curdles ....like green poopie....since yesterday nighttill tonight she has not passed any poopie and has been passing gas as well.

am taking care of what i am eating which is mug dal and rice with spinach or fish....everything bland

do let me know what to do

babies until 1 week or 10 days, do pass on blackish green poop,which is normal..its bile.sometimes babies have shown that upto 12 days..
also note that your diet will not effect your baby poop colour,,but yes when your baby starts to eat / solids, then his poop will show variations in shades esp when vegetables like spinach, beets are given !
so take care, if this continues for more than another 4 days(since 7 days has passed), ask your dr..

Hi

Maybe the green is due to palak or maybe due to bile which if it passes too quickly through intestines will not turn to yellow like normal . Check with your doc .

You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.

Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits.
