Hi,

We live in US and I have 5 year old daughter , She says that in her class nobody plays with her because
she is not fair. Although she is not as fair as americans she is fair, she has big beautiful eyes and silky shiny hair
and every body say that she is very pretty.When I go to pick her up or drop her up I find her teachers and other office
people complimenting that she is very pretty. Few days back she asked me mommy do I look bad then I asked her what made
her to think like that then she said that one of her friend said that the kids who are light skinned only can play game
with her.

The main thing bothers me that although only one time the other kid said like that my daughter thinks all other kids are
being rude because she is not light skinned. I try to tell her not to feel bad and not all kids being rude because of
her skin still it makes me feel very sad for her. we are planning to go back to India after some time but after all this
happening I feel like going back right away . please let me know if any one else having the same problem and how you
deal with it.

vani console replied. please complain about this to the school teacher and principal.this is a serious issue. this affects your childs self confidence.kids at this age are not supposed to show racial differences and this should be treated right away.
