Foetal Growth Movements:Cerclage placement

Hi Archie,

I am 17 weeks pregnant. I had a still born baby last July at 31 weeks (it was cord accident my baby had cord 4 times to her neck and 3 times to her leg). With this pregnancy they came to know that I have Bicornuate uterus and the doctor mentioned that I might go into pre term labor. Last Tuesday (May 2nd) I had an ultrasound and doctor advised me to take bed rest and asked me to come back on Friday (May 5th) as my cervix was measuring 2.1 to 2.3 cm depending on which he would decide if I need to get my cervix stitched. After 3 days of rest my cervix was measuring 2.9cm but he saw funneling so, he advised that I need to get Cerclage placement done and is scheduled for tomorrow (i.e. May 9th). I am just worried if this surgery would have any side effects now and during delivery?
Would they remove the stitch as I near my due date or even before as I may go into pre term labor?
Would the stitch create any problem during my labor?
I was told that I could return back to my normal activities after a week's rest. So, Can I go back to work?
Please advice!!! I am eagerly looking forward for your reply.

Thanks
Susmitha

it's little late for me to respond. Don't worry about circlage won't hurt you or labor or baby.
bicornuate uterus can enhance preterm chances but not necessarily you will have one. sometime with this type of uterus also you can go full term.

RE:adoption in a family
hey ananya this is really a very sensitive case and you should think about it before hand as in what the child would think in future as he or she grows up. Or else you will have to do counselling of the child at the right time.... - ridhi [View Message]

RE:less amniotic fluid
Hi Rupal,
So don't you have any other option because it would be very hard for you to abort the child know.So better ask for any other source if not then you decide what to do.... - Amani [View Message]
