My wishes to you. Try eating Oats. It helps a lot. Also trying feeding as often as possible. It increases milk flow. Good luck.

Congrats on your twin babies!

I am a mother of 5 month old twin babies myself and they are exclusively breastfed.
I had a very tough C-Section and had to supplement them with formula initially because they were preemies and refused to latch on successfully.
But I kept on trying. For every meal, before you offer them formula, try to offer the breast. Also, try nursing them as frequently as they want to. This will establish your milk supply.
And keep on trying..Avoid formula as much as possible
As suggested, you could also try fenugreek(methi seeds). This will increase your milk supply. My mother was here during post-partum and she had made methi laddus for me :-)
Another advice, drink tons of water. That helps.
Also, to increase your calcium intake, drink lots of milk. Try eating good food and keeping yourself healthy. This will promote a good milk supply.
I know, the initial period with twins is very difficult, but believe me, it does get better. Once they start breastfeeding successfully, it will be really convenient. No more bottles to sterlize, and easy on the wallet too!

Hope this helps!
Deepa

First of all double congratulations! I can relate with your problem, my son was borm thru' emergency c-sec 8 months back and I had been pretty much in the same situation you are in now.
When my son refused to take the breast, I pumped for alomst 5 months and fed him exclusively breast milk. First two weeks he was totally on formula and later on after 5 months I put him on formula.
There are few tips to increase breast milk supply, to my knowledge :)
1.Feed/pump as often as possible. Nurse-pump; Nurse-pump; breast milk works on demand-supply.
2.There is a herb called fenugreek, [Check your pharmacy, We have it GNC here, not sure if you have it this store there for the capsules]which is supposed to be taken twice/thrice to increase the supply.
3. A friend of mine recommends a hurb called, blessed thistle, check if you get it there. You have to take three capsules 3 times a day.
3. Personally I took lot of garlic and jeera as my mother recommended it highly.
4. Drink lot of fluids, water-juice etc

My personal advise would be to relax, I know it could be tough initially but try to relax and have a positive attitude. Enjoy these initial months with your babies, they grow up fast !

Coming to the issue of colic,my son was also extremely gassy initially due to formula intake, since I live in USA I could not bring myself to giving gripe water ( though they recoomend it a lot in India) as doctors here are totally against it.
1.Colic cures by itself by about 3-4 months time, you can try milicon drops in case you get it there ( they are prescribed here )No body knows why some babies are colicky, you can safely say it could be because of thier immature digestive system.
2.Try burping your babies often, so they would not have a bubble which could cause discomfort to them.
3.My mother gave a tip for a home-made medication:
Boil water with asafoetida, bring it to luke warm, when the baby is in discomfort, rub this preparation around navel area( belly-button area) You can make this preparation and store it in a bottle, it does not get spoilt for months together.I can personally vouch for this, since It helped my baby.
Hope I was of some help. Good luck !!
