oh, my!! i can really understand what you are going threw. my daughter is also 2 1/2 yrs old and till she was about 2 yrs old didn't want to chew food. she would also eat the snacks but not the meals. i used to mix baby cereal in dal for a long time. then slowly i started mashed rice-dal. try making the consistency thicker and more chewy dau by day. may be your son will adapt slowly. may be he will prefer some tatsy side curry with his food. thats what my daughter enjoys. just dal-rice is a total \";no' for her. she doesn't eat rice when the garains are seperate. she wnats it very soft. just don't loose patients. you are not alone with such a kid !! i'm sure your son will soon eat well.
does he eat any other finger foods, like potatoe fries, small boiled carrots, peas, etc. my daughter loves those kind of foods.

what about if you give him something tasty like chips etc? does he chew that? maybe you should try feeding him snacks once in a while and see his reaction... slowly mash the food less and less.

My child is 2 years old.Till recently he was drinking milk by bottle and was quite fond of milk.I have discontinued use of feeder bottle and started giving him milk by glass. He refuses to drink.
I feel milk at this stage is very necessary also dont want to start feeding by bottle again. Your comments please.

does your son like to drink plain milk or do you add some kind of tatse to it. have you tried to add some taste making things, like choco or vanilla. i tries to put vanilla in my daughters milk and she loved it. try making your child feel that she is big like mommy and is drinking from a cup. i often make such encouraging comments to my daughter, like "big girl". give him a treat or incentive for a few days whenever he tries to drink form a cup. he'll feel good and may want to do it more often.

Hi, my son too used to drink with bottle and after I stopped it , he has reduced milk intake initially. But now once he is hungry he drinks milk. Try a sipper glass first and then proceed to a normal glass. Your son will take time to get adjusted to the new glass but will start drinking milk after a while.

My son too used to create lots of problems while eating and still does.
But I put him in play school after which he atleast started eating solids. Prior to that he was eating only mashed food and would vomit if even a little piece would come in his mouth.
Now when he likes something or when he is very hungry, he eats properly. I think eating with other children and seeing them eat has helped my son to use his teeth.
