hi,
drs in US recommend strictly that 100%juices shouldnot be given to babies below 1 year, however the baby needs to add in extra water diet which can be solved by giving DILUTED juices to the ratio of 1juice:4water is ok for babies below 1 year !
give the juices of the frruits you have already introduced. any citric juices are tend to give gastric reflux or heartburn to baby,,,
for constipated babies, giving prune juice to the ratio of 1juice:4 water : 1 part pulp of any sweet fruit,,by 5months,i will be bananajuice. is great to give...babies when start solids, they tend to get constipated,,offer more liquids or water or pedialyte in their dialy intake,,and should be fine !
good luck
so take care.

Hi,

You can try sweet lime ( mosambi ) but sometimes this is too acidic for babies - may not like the taste and may even cause acidity for her. So make sure you dilute . Increase her water intake to make sure she's not constipated. Also you can try the age-old black raisin technique - it worked for my son. Soak a few black ( 4-5 to start with ) raisins in hot water overnight. In the morning, warm up the soaked water and raisins a lil, strain it ( seeds and grit will be removed tahat way ) and let baby drink it - hope she likes it. My son does - we give his multivitamin drop and calcium along with this juice ! elders say this should be given on empty stomach - but I give it an hour after his first milk feed around 7 AM

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi there please be calm and relax as it happens sometime the child takes little time to start walking or crawling also but in your case the child should have started crawling if not walking.... - Anita [View Message]
