Hi I am a mom to 8 month old boy.
Though he is pretty active but my concern is about his weight. His birth weigth was 4 kg and height -53cm.
Now he weighs 8.5kg and height is 69cm.He looks very lean .
I have started feeling that i might not be giving him right food.
Can anyone suggest an appropriate diet for 8 month old baby.
Thanx in advance

Hi
My baby is 8.5 months and he is 8.2 Kgs n measures 69cms. He was born at 3.1Kgs n 20cms
His menu for the day is a follows :
0700hrs - Milk 120ml( he has suddenly stopped nursing and doesn't even drink breatmilk if I express it. So give him cow's milk)
0930hrs - Weetabix with milk. This is a cerel type biscuit made from wheat. It comes in a blue n yellow carton box in packs of 12 or 24. You could also try oats or sooji and milk
1100hrs - Juice ( fresh )or some little thing to keep him going. Sometimes I just give him a biscuit to chew on.
1230hrs/1300 (Lunch)- 5 Tbsp Veggies n Meat (chicken/beef/fish)(which is boiled n pureed )and 3Tbsp Stewed Apple & Pear.
You could do only apple or only pear too. I stew it after peeling with cinnamon. The water I give him through out the day n the pulp is pureed. You could also try Banana. Mine hates Bananas. So stick to the apple n pear.
1500hrs 150ml Milk
1800hrs 60-80ml of Milk n 3-4 glucose bisuicts or just plain milk.
2030hrs (Dinner)- Same as Lunch
After this it's milk when he wakes up. He usually sleeps around 2130 - 2200hrs n wakes up for one milk feed around 0300hrs.
All the best !!!

hi,

if u r indian n know to cook rice n dal or khichadi that would be very good.start ur baby's day with milk n biscuit disolve in hot milk, than around 10.30 make him some cereals or suji kheer or ragi kheer,in afternoon make khichadi or rice with some vegetables,in evening some fruits, than for dinner make some boiled vegetable or soups n before sleep again milk . i think this schedule will help u up.start with small quantity .or else he will spit it out.
take care
