Bowel and Bladder Movements:Very horrible problem....

Dear parents,
My son is 3 years old. I have been trying to potty train him and he wants no part of it. He does not like the way a soiled diaper feels, and he takes his diaper off....messiness and all.... I have to change his bed sheets sometimes twice a day (after he gets up in the morning and after his afternoon nap). It gets really ugly because it's not just number 1 but number 2. I don't know what to do because he puts his hand in his diaper and when he feels what's inside, he wipes his hands on his pillow and sheets. I have to go through a whole sanitizing ritual every time this happens. I've even bought Clorox sanitizing wipes in bulk just for this problem. Please, I'm desperate. Also, he doesn't talk, so I don't think he would know what I mean if I tell him something.

I think 3 yr old should be quite big enough to understand the meaning of potty training. Atlest not for passing motion but to pass urine, he should be able to say so. Main problem is he doesnt talk. For this you should check out with the paediatrician. My son is just 2 yrs old and goes to playgroup but he can speak very well English which can be understood by us clearly. Then without saying, if he wants to pass urine, he goes to the toilet, passes urine in the comod and flushes. I think you should put your son in Playgroup, where he would see the other kids doing things, will learn on his own. May be who knows, he may start to talk also. All the Best to you.

Please dont feel iam sounding mean...Have you tried taking him to speech therapist?....normaly for potty training kids should some cues, like he does not like the feel of the wet diaper,or straining during potty,or has a regular timing for potty etc.
you can try rubber bed sheets under his hip parts so cleaning will be much more easier.talk with his pediatrition she will be able to help you more.

RE:Baby cries while passing urine - Hetal pls advice
At the same time the child is feeling some pain So try to understand and consult a doctor.... - sharmasanvi [View Message]
RE:bowel movement in 2 week old infant
Some babies go through phases when they either can't use the muscles to empty their bowels or they "forget how to". In that case, it's safest keep using the suppositories daily to make them do a dirty in 5 minutes.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:where can I get laxative?
You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.
(I have a daughter with long-term bowel issues: she can't "do" without them!)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:constipation
When the baby is in discomfort from constipation (especially if she hasn't done some dirty for two days or more), the first thing you should give is a glycerin suppository.... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:hi
Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Consult a good doctor immediately as this should not be ignored as it will cause a big issue if you let it go now, please seek doctors advice on immediate basis.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Baby Movements/Development
Hi there please be calm and relax as it happens sometime the child takes little time to start walking or crawling also but in your case the child should have started crawling if not walking.... - Anita [View Message]
