Hi,
I am a mother of 15 months old baby, and I am confused whether to add sugar in her milk or not..I was giving her whole milk from her first birthday and she likes it without sugar. Now a days my inlaws are here and they want me to put sugar..I dont understand what to do..Personally,i dont want to add sugar, since my baby liked the sugarless milk..and my husbands parents are diabetic and i am really concerned of my baby's health.
Please do suggest me real soon..
Thanks

Someone else posted this same question the other day. I'm thinking it's a popular addition to milk for those of you who live in India. There is absolutely no reason to add sugar to milk. Sugars are not healthy for adults, never mind children. Your inlaws are more than likely just following a tradition based on what their own families and those around them have done. There is nothing nutritious or medically sound in adding sugar to milk. Like the person who posted previously, children get more than enough sugar in the other foods they eat. There is never a right time to add sugar.

Hi ved's mom,

If your daughter likes whole milk without sugar then there is no need to introduce it. Kids at this age get enough sugar from fruits and juices. So I would recommend to keep off it for now.
