hi sonia,
my son jack is having similar problems in school, he shows no respect often for the teachers at school, his mother (we are separated), and his after school carer. He is 5 yrs old and in his first year at school. he seems to have trouble dealing with many things at one time. from this comes the behavior problems. a few weeks ago i suggested we set him a goal per week and reward him if he does well. first week the goal was no shouting at teacher, it worked and he got the reward, 2nd week we said no shouting as before and no taking other kids toys, worked too. you are not alone with your childs problem, but with the goal setting we found ourselves when we were with jack, that we needed to be constantly backing up the goal and the reasons for setting it, no shouting at the teacher makes it easier to make friends at school, not taking other kids toys will make the other kids want to play with you..
dont give up, you will feel so much better if you can relax when he is at school, not worry about what report he will come home with, it is not an over night thing but stick with it, it is worth it to see them smile after school. feel free to reply. Paul

Subject:  Hello Sonia,

In this case I would suggest you take away his most precious belongings whenever he misbehaves. For Eg- a toy he likes, watching a fav. Cartoon show, etc.
In this way he will realize he is loosing all the things he likes. Whenever he behaves reward him with the things he likes. Give him back his fav. toy or let him watch his fav cartoon. Hope this helps.
