Feeding:Will not take bottle
2005-03-23
Name: Priya

Hi all,

My baby is totally breastfed. She refuses to take bottle. I changed from avent to gerber bottle with nuk nipple still she refuses to take. She used to take bottle once in a while before when my parents were here. Now that they have left myself and my husband are trying to give her bottle. But she refuses to take from both of us. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

firstly you should have introduced her to the bottle from day one. Those that breast feed need to invest in a breast pump so they can also use a bottle. Thus allows the father to participate in the babies feedings. Most likely your baby will have a very hard time adjusting to a bottle. Pump breast milk into a bottle. do NOT feed her any other way. If she is hungry enough she will take from the bottle. I recommend buying playtex disposable bottles. As their nipples are similar to the breast. Best of Luck!
