Bowel and Bladder Movements:strange potty problem

My 5 yrs old who has been potty trained for last 2 yrs, is spoiling his underwear. It looks like is not able to control for some reason and poops little bit in his underwear. He feels it and immediately changes his underwear. I tired not to let him wear underwear as a punishment, but he cries for it. Wearing underwear gives him some kind of support that in case he poops little bit, his pants will still be fine. He is fine when he is sleeping.

hi,
it happens like that some times. dont think punishing him by not giving his underwear is the right way to go, as he is not deliberately spoiling it.. it jus so happens sometimes and even more the reason he wants his underwear(for not spoiling his pants) seems to be a sensible can even say mature.so..may b u can sit with him and talk to him.. sometimes kids understand it better if spoken to rather punished.

Thanks a lot for your response. I have been talking to him about it and he knows he should not be doing it. I am planning to see his doctor as well. Lets see what she says..

You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.

Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
