Behavioural Problems:Parents with ADHD

Hello does any-one have children who has ADHD-Hyperactivity.I have a 4 year old boy who has that.Plus he has nervous ticks on top of that.A very very nervous boy.Since he was a baby I knew some-thing was very different with him.once he turned like 6 months old then he would not nap any-more,unless I slept with him.He would be active from when he woke up in morning until I put him to bed at night. But he was such a very happy child.I love my son.But I just find it so hard to take care of a active child with a little girl.My daughter is like 16 months old.A very very different character she has.She is so relaxed. She sleeps like all day.Well she wakes up in morning at 8am then goes back to bed for nap at 12-3pm.Then back to bed at 7or8pm.
When she's awake she usually is miserable.Pulls tantrums if things don't go her way. When she does that I just walk away and ignore her.But she will pull her tantrum I swear for like close to half an hour. She's so different.
So does any-one have any good or bad experiences with children with ADHD.
Thanks hope to hear from you
Pamela

Hi Pamela,
My oldest boy whom is eleven has been diagnosed with ADHD. I guess on the light side. Praise God for you. He is my hardest child. I love him to pieces. You want advice for something that is going to require all of you no matter what you do. My son has already been on two differant sorts of Medicine that just don't seem to Make his grades any different. So we just don't use them. I manage at home and sometimes I guess I don't stand back to see how much chaose I live with. Remember that Adhd is not a disease so think about how much of your son you want different. I hope you have support because time away can mean filling your own cup up so that you have more to give to your children. I Can't really say what you should do. Just remember to talk to your doctor. Remember you don't have to go anywhere and avoid high stress situations like the grocery. My very best advise to you is to take excellent care of your self. Get rest whenever possible. That helps me to make none emotional decisons. I have three girls and a baby boy underneath my first and from the little bit you told me about your girl she sounds like mine. My oldest girl is seven and when she was sixteen months she cried every night over everything. Boy can that drain you completely. My other two use to do the same when they were tired. Everything set them off. Hang in there girl. Don't rule out meds. I have heard of other children not being able to sleep and some would be up all night if they did. Good Luck to you

Hi Pamela,
My nephew is also a ADHD child. He is 7 yrs old under treatment. I suggest that u take ur son to a psycharist as my nephew is also going to the same. The doc is giving him some medicines. I suggest that u start the treatment at the earliest. As time flys it gets difficult.

Wish u good luck and pray that ur son is well soon
