Foetal Growth Movements:Archie please reply urgently

Name: Reshma Pandya I'm 34 weeks pregnant, i had a scan last week and the doctor said there is not enough water around the baby and that the baby is small. They are doing a CTG every two days, i have been given steriods injection for maturing the babies lungs and i have another scan next week, they have said that if the baby is distressed in anyway and the water is still low, they will induce me next week. The baby is currently weighing 3.7lbs. Can you please give me some more information and is the steriods ok for the baby and won't affect the baby if i don't get induced and go full term. Please help.

Hi Reshma,
I don't think there is any harm to the baby while administered with steriod to mature the lungs. My baby was given steriod to mature his lungs while I was 30 weeks pregnant.However, the baby was born at the right time and is perfectly healthy. Take it easy and do not worry.
