Bowel and Bladder Movements:Little poop

Name: Ranu Hi All,
my baby is 7 month old.his poop is hard and does 2-3 times in a day and very little n green in colour. is this normal?
actually i give him little ghee in khichadi.i give peach/pear fruits too.

More water and prunes/black grapes

Hi ,

If stool is hard , maybe you need to increase water quantity. I gave my son black grape juice ( 4- 8 soaked overnight in hot water and strained next day ) since he was 6 months old.

Green color maybe due to some brand cereals ( my son had it with cerelac - slight green color ) or maybe bile ( stool passing too quickly through intestine )_ . check with paediatrician if it continues green,.

You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.

Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
