My Donor IUI went well. We did ultrasound guided IUI. The count was very very good and my doc. said tho' he cant promise me....he's hoping he sees a positive result.
My Q. to y'll is what exactly is a progesterone level check? I have been called in after a week fm today to check my progesterone level. My nurse said that if the progesterone is what is shud' look like a week fm now....then we are on the right track. If its less than what we need and if i dont conceive she will increase the dosage for the next IUI. Whats all this? Though I will be asking my doc this Q.,I thot' it will be nice if someone experienced can asnswer me .
Hoping for the best.

Dear Whynot,

I was not satisfied with the answer i gave you earlier, being a student of psychology, we even are required to learn a bit of human biology, hence i looked up the exact definition for you.
I hope this helps to clarify your doubts.

Dictionary Definition of Progesterone:
A steroid hormone, C21H30O2, secreted by the corpus luteum of the ovary and by the placenta, that acts to prepare the uterus for implantation of the fertilized ovum, to maintain pregnancy, and to promote development of the mammary glands.

Love Sunshine.

Hi Whynot,

Progesterone in a hormone that should be present in a female body and rate of which increase around and after ovulation. It's similar to the male hormone of testesterone.

I wish you and your hubby all the best.

Take care,
with love

hi why not

progesterone is used to check whether u had a strong ovulation. progesterone level check is done around 7 days past ovulation. a level of 10 or more is considered good for an unmedicated cycle and 15 or more is considered good for an unmedicated cycle. hope i have answered u'r question.

good luck to u whynot
