i'm 14 week preg. will there be any -ve impact on foetus by taking hot bath, of-course mild.

Subject:  very hot bath risky



Taking a very hot bath that can raise your body temp can be risky, I've heard that it can interfere in the develoment of your baby, the same way that a fever can. My doc has advised me to take only a luke--warm water bath, not a very hot one.

Hi Laxmi,

As long you do not soak in a hot tub you are fine. I have read that soaking in a hot tub can raise body temperature beyond safe limits. A warm shower or pouring water on you should be okay.

Taking a nice long shower is one of the great luxuries of my pregnancy since I am mostly keeping up with my two-yr old! Enjoy!!!
