Developmental Concerns:Feedback on Carmel School, Padmanabha Nagar, Blr

Dear All,

Does any of your kid goes to Carmel school??

My daughter used to go to a playhome montessory (Prayag) where she was very active and I found that she had progrssed well as a person w.r.t rhymes, identifying shapes, colours, prayers, dicsiplien everything. I also used to get feedback from school very often on the progress.

Now she has joined Carmel english school for pre nursery. I find that there is not much activities here. She has not learnt anything new in the past 5 months. Infact I find that most of the good things the prayag had teached, she is day-by-day forgetting all that.

I request you to kindly give me your feedback w.r.t Carmel english school, Padmanabha Nagar. This will help to decide to change the school OR limit my expectations.

Thanks and Regards,
Raj

Hi

My name is Anup.P. I studied in Carmel School, Padmanabhanagar from LKG to 10th std. Formerly called Carmel English School, the school had only ICSE syllabus. The standards maintained by the school management was one of the best in ' erstwhile Bangalore' . Only Kumarans, LIttle Flower and Holy Saint were the other competitors to my school. Carmel was considered the second best in Bangalore.

Far from the huge glass building that stands today, the school was run in humble houses in the lanes just opposite to the present building. The place where the present building stands was a huge play-ground. School days were conducted in that ground and so were our sports day. Construction of the preesent building had started by the time I reached 6th std.

The houses that I mentioned earlier was our ' Carmel English School' . There were 6 of them in all and spread over 3 by-lanes. Morning assembly was conducted in the empty sites beside those houses. Just to remind my reader that Bangalore in the 90' s had plenty of empty sites. There was very little traffic on the road, there were trees everywhere, very cool even during mornings.

In my 2nd std however state govt. made Kannada language compulsory. Some shop boards which until then carried only English letters were asked to be removed and new ones put with kannada letters also put along with English letters. This was the time when \" English\" was removed from my school' s name and it was renamed as \" Carmel School\" .

Today those 6 houses are all private properties. Today \" Carmel School\" is that present building that can be seen today. I know people who study there presently.

Thanking you Anup.P

kids fitness through play and games
since i have been training young kids for motor skills and fun fitness for a while i see that kids develop most of their sports movements then and as early as 4 years. parents need to be aware that forcing kids into sports at a very early age will not get them far, as they end up losing interest quickly. ... - Sunny Singh [View Message]
