Hi, My baby is 6 months old. she started crawling and main thing is I want food i can give her( mainly Indianfood). Everybody is suggesting me rice with moong dal. but i don't know how to prepare that. can any one of you suggest me. can any one of you tell me is it good to give her cow milk instead of formula at this age.thanks, mahathi.

Hey Mahathi, this is how I do it

Slightly roast rice and moong dal (you can add just a little bit of tuvar dal too after your baby gets used to rice+moong)
add lots of water and pressure cook it.
Mash it well (or grind) and you can add just a little bit of ghee to it and feed it...
YOu can add carrots, spinach and other vegetables to this and cook together like you do Kichidi.

About Whole milk - doctors in the US recommend not introducing it till the babies are atleast a year old but in India, some doctors suggest feeding babies diluted cow's milk after they are 9 months old.
