My baby will be turning a year old next month. Right now he takes Gerber jar foods and similac. My question is what's after Similac. Can I buy the Similac 2 to continue him on formula after he turns one. OR give him Vitamin D or whole milk?
Also what else I can give him in Solids category other than Gerber jar foods?

my son just turned 1 last week....I've introduced vit. D milk (whole milk) when he was 9 m. Actually he is only breastfed, so he hates formula / cow's milk....what I do is mix 2 of his meals (raagi / rice cereal) with milk everyday/ My pediatrician told me he can have ANYTHING now. Of course, you'll be careful while giving him hard things like nuts etc., but otherwise I give him egg (hard boiled...just the yolk...or omlet), cheese, yoghurt, moog/tur dal-rice, fish (salmon/catfish), rava (roasted on ghee and boiled in milk...then add either sugar or salt), and fresh fruits(mostly only banana). I also give him one jar of gerber veggies almost everyday.... of course, he doesn't eat all these foods everyday, but make yr own schedule and give accordingly. eg. when he has egg (proteins), I don't give him dal...etc.
