Hi Folks,

I've been reading all the messages that you guys post for quite sometime now, and I think it's an amazing group that seems to be there. I can see the amount of support that you all provide each other, it's very wonderful.

I have been married for nearly 4 years and have been trying to concieve since Nov. I know that this isn't exactly too long...The only form of contrceptives we've ever used are condoms. This also we have not been using since June 2004.

The thing is, that like i am like many of you all, trying to have a child, and wondering whether what we are doing is right... All the doubts coulding our minds, and crossing our fingers every month and hoping for the best.

This message forum has unknowingly answered a lot of questions i had. Just want to know does position matter? What's the best position?

During the \";fertile\"; days is there a specific time of the night or day that's best?

Does physical excercise matter in the days that you are trying to concieve? Some of my friends who are already mothers tell me that i shouldn't be gymming if i'm trying to have a baby. I have a tendency to put on weight before you can blink your eyes. :)

Does it matter if you have chocolates or coffee during the time that you are trying to concieve. (I have 1 at the most 2 cups of coffee. and am a bit of a chocoholic, that's why i need to gym to keep of the chocolate cals)

I know stress on either or both the people makes a lot of difference... If there's any of you who know good relaxation techniques?

My mom also tells me that it takes time for the body to adjust to intercourse without any precautionary measures... I always thought that this applies to internally taken contraceptives, like pills or copper t or loops etc. Does this apply to condoms as well?
Is it necessary to visit a GYN before we start trying?

Guess I must sound pretty naive...:)

we are trying to conceive starting nov too and guess what I had the exact same questions you had.From what I read,caffeine in high amounts 300mg per day(3 cups)can affect fertility.Even chocolates have caffeine.Go to babycenter.They have a nice table about how much caffeine everything we eat has.I am also wondering about exercise.Especially the waiting days,when you don't know you are pregnant or not.I was 4 days late this month and thought this is it but oh well! I have even more embarassing questions than you have.I will post them later. It feels so good to know I am not the only one in the world in this situation.

one thing though, ever since we have started trying my periods are getting delayed by 3-4-5 days... Keeps making me think, ok this is it. I'm here now...but then, well it happens. It does depress me for a while, but i usually get over it.
Where exactly is baby centre?
Please do post your questions... Let's see if we can answer each other and haul in some good advice from the girls out here.

i had the same questions in mind. no luck as yet with ttc. u can search google for trying to conceive and all other questions like 'sex while trying to conceive' or 'food while trying to conceive'. u wil get loads of websites with information. and hey, though 1 cup coffee a day is safe, y dont u try milk with boost or horlicks or ovaltine instead? gym can help u maintain wt only if u eat healthy foods, not chocolates!!

Not that u sound naive but u sound tensed before even its 3 full months of ttc.
Position and time of day/night is not important. U can have coffee,go to the gym and excercise some. Avoid all this once u know u r pregnant.And yes it is necessary to go to the Gyn when u think about getting pregnant.Gyn can do some tests and give u tips on staying healthy.
