Foetal Growth Movements:low lying placenta

hi Archie,

i completed my 32nd week and my doctor did one more ultrasound this week. On my 20th week i was diagonosed with low lying placenta which was completely covering the mouth of uterus. But this time he told it has moved away completely but still it is in the lower portion of the uterus. Baby can be delivered normally. But I'm still worried. Is there any chance that placenta will keep moving up ? If not, then what will happen in that position of placenta ?

thank you so much.

Dear Meena,
There is very little in your hand.
Usually placenta will not move anyfurther after 34 weeks.
If it's little bit away from the cervix opening (I mean referring at the time of delivery) then one can take chance of Vaginal birth. However, if it's in the way then no option but C-section. This is the only way baby with complete or transverse type of placenta previa are delivered.
I would recommend you cautiousness and no heavy work. Even while walking be careful no climbing of the stairs and any bleeding or spotting should be notified to your OB.

With the bed rest, you will be very fine.

Archie

RE:adoption in a family
hey ananya this is really a very sensitive case and you should think about it before hand as in what the child would think in future as he or she grows up. Or else you will have to do counselling of the child at the right time.... - ridhi [View Message]

Hi Rupal,
So don't you have any other option because it would be very hard for you to abort the child know.So better ask for any other source if not then you decide what to do.... - Amani [View Message]
