Hi - I HAVE A TEM MONTH OLD BABY WHO REFUSES TO EAT ANYTHING OTHER THAN CERALAC OR MILK. HIS FOOD INTAKE IS VERY POOR, BUT THE PROBLEM THAT I FACE IS THAT SUPPOSE HE SEES US EATING ANYTHING HE FEEL LIKE VOMITING OR IF HE HAS HAD A FEED AND WE TRY AND PUT ANYTHING IN HIS MOUTH HE BRINGS UP ALL WHAT HE HAS EATEN. HE ALSO DISLIKE TO HOLD RAW VEGETABLE IN HIS HAND - IF MY MOM IS CLEANING VEGETABLE LIKE BEANS AND SHE TRIES TO GIVE HIM TO HOLD IT IN HIS HAND HE MAKES THE EXPRESSION OF VOMITING - WE CANNOT SHOW IF WHAT WE ARE EATING AS HE MAKES FACES.

Hi Andy:

What you hv told me of your baby is so much like my elder son (now aged 7 1/2 yrs) had a similar problem and till now he does not hv fruits and tends to throw up when he is offered the same. He does not even touch it. Vegetables are somehow mashed into the food and given. He was only on milk, cereals and bread and home made soup until 3 1/2 yrs old. This was a major problem. Now he has started schooling and by the grace of God has a normal healthy appetite with most nutritious foods consumed.

My younger son (aged 2 yrs 11 mths) still wants his food pureed and does not hv a proper meal when offered food. He tends to throw up too. However, does hv a couple of spoonfuls if desired. He is so fussy and I do understand what u r going thru. But the e.g. of my elder son gives me hope.

Let us hope for the best. It is just a matter of time. All babies are different!!

Hi Andy,

Earlier, I had the same problem when my daughter was of that age. I would suggest that you don't give him anything when he is full. Try to give him when he is hungry. My daughter who is now 2 yrs old still eats only pureed food though, she's learning to eat some solid on her own. She's also a very fussy eater and eats very less amount of food. I guess you should have some patience and keep trying. Did you discuss this with his doctor? Talk to him and see what he says. When I spoke to my daughter's pediatrician, he said that she'll slowly outgrow this. Hope the same with you. I can understand your problem since I'am dealing with it too. Just waiting for her to stop eating pureed food and to start with proper solid like all of us do. I'am being trying this for long now. Don't force your child cause I have seen in my daughter, when I force her into something, she gets stubborn too. All kids are different and they'll slowly change. I'am still working on my 2 yr old. Its frustrating sometimes. I guess parenthood is like this, we all have to deal with it.

My best wishes to you.
