Trying since long:Aygestin:
2005-02-02
Name: shree

In the process of getting conceived, as per my doc, I am advised to first take \";aygestin\"; for inducing periods and then to take clomid.
When I researched about \";aygestin\"; I came to know about its worst side effects and not to be used before Pregnancy. Has anyone used this drug before. If so ,please please reply.
As well, I would want to know why should I have to induce periods unnaturally using \";aygestin\"; instead of waiting for a natural one (though I have a irregular length cycle-approx 50-60 days) and then have Clomid.
Any inputs should be helpful in solving my confusion.

Dear shree,
It's always best to clarify from your Dr. instead trying to figure out what wrong s/he has done. S/he will answer your all questions and if you are not satisfied then change to new Dr. isn't that easy thing to do:)
Do not take overdose once you experience the period, this medication is offered in limits only.

Dear Shree,
As long as you have had no side effects or allergies it's perfectly OK to take Aygestin. Especially if your periods are far apart and cycles are irregular. It's important to induce period before you start clomid. It's necessary to have all old lining shed off from uterus before making new lining and start process to get you pregnant.

I think you have searched but did not understood all part about medication. No medicine that's hormone based is without side effects. In any event hormone based medicines have some strong side effects, it's up to you to go through or give up ttc process.

Remember to keep yourself far from stress and unnecessary worry. Clomid don't make miracle especially for those who don't keep things relaxed as stress in itself has lot to do with your imbalanced hormones.

Dear Archie,
Thanks a lot for ur timely response.THANK U so much.I read from net that "aygestin" may've several side effects, but the side effect that scared me the most is that it may cause male/female genital birth defects.I consulted my doc,but she said that it won't've any side effect.Being very desperate to've a healthy child I am troubling everyone about "aygestin".Ur mail means a lot to me.Thanks for ur advice.Let's hope the best.

Thanks, Shree.
