hi, i'm on my 22nd week. so far everything looks good. I had my ultrasound today and babay is doing perfect. But the doctor said i have low-lying placenta. so he'll do the ultrasound again on 32nd week. If it doesn't move up then i may have to go for C- section. My first delivery was normal. I'm really worried abt this. please let me know what r the chances....

Hi,

I too have low lying placenta. From what I read, this hppens in 25% of pregnancies and in majority cases, it corrects it self by 32nd week. This is becuase the lower part of the uterus develops more rapidly after 20th week and once it develops, placenta moves up. It is only in 5% cases that the placenta continues to be very low. So lets hope that in your case, the placenta will move sufficiently and you would be able to have a normal birth.

since this is not in your hands take care and do no exert yourself.

Dear meena
Sorry to hear low lying placenta (placenta previa) story. Unfortunately if your placenta does not move upward in due course of time you have no option but C-section, can't help.
Do not stress out so much. Do not over do things as this condition can lead to preterm labor if not taken proper care.
