I have faced severe stress over my childs dislike for studies and any academic activities. I do not know how to make him interested in his clasroom lessons and home work etc.

Most parents find children today are aversed to studies as today's children have other attractions like T.V., Video games, computer etc.parents therefore need to have high quality, interactive home learning materials to make them interested in studies. Pl get in touch with your nearest Time-Life distributor or call me at 022-554 4754. I can help you not only get your child interested in studies but also make him/her a self-motivated learner who will do well in school.

I think parents tend to overexpect from the kids. Check out if you have ever done so. Some children have a natural dislike for studies. May be your son wants some other vocation in his life. Maybe you have not yet discovered the hidden qualities in his life.

Once the child finds his feet in the school environment, things should be okay. I feel you should not dismiss the child as a no-good.

For all you know, the family might be needing a good break from the routine. A vacation, a few days off from daily rigmarole will solve the problems.

Try to make his study table with more of his choice and allow him to make his own time table for study and his other things. then if he fulfills that even 80% give him some gift which he can collect. you can do this initially and help him. gift should be very small. just for name sake.

please donot force anything on the child. when the parent is teaching he/she must be very relaxed .begin with activities the child is interested in.then slowly switch on to other areas. make the study session interesting with lively stories.make small games out of his lessons.

my experience has bee something like this:- the more i relax, the child feels more at ease. mothers/parents tend to pass on their tensions to their child. this does not help, especially when it comes to learning.

Maybe you can introduce him to computers and buy a CD for learning alphabets/numbers etc. Once he is attracted, you can promise him an hour on the computer provided he learns/finishes his homework etc., try this out. it will definitely change his attitude.
