Dear Saheli,
My baby is 1 yr 4 months old. From past 1 yr my mom was with me as am a working women. My mom has to go back to my native which I cant avaoid now. so I have to make a permanent arrangement for my baby. No help from inlaws side. My husband is away from home. so everything I have to manage. I want to put my baby in a Creche, also want to keep a maid from 8am to 7pm who can do cooking and cleaning vessels as well as can takecare of the baby when she comes back from creche.Main problem is that in the begining at a time baby cant stay for 8 to 9 hrs in a creche, it will gradually increase.Morning I can leave the baby at creche and afternoon maid has to bring the baby from creche after 3/4 hrs. and I dont want to keep the baby full time with the maid as I cant rely on maid fully. I have found out a creche which is 1 km from my apartment. My ofc is 12 km from my apartment.and my job timing 9am to 6pm.I am very disturbed and tensed.
This is what my situation now. Can anyone pls suggest any maid agency which is reliable (from own experience) or any reference of people in Bangalore. Please help me or if other alternatives possible pls suggest.

Rekha replied. Hi, We are rainbow kids at Marathahalli outer ring road bridge. We take care of the kids between 8.30 am to 7.00 pm. Timings are flexible. If you can mention your residential area or work place area, I can help you. All the best to find a secure place for your child.

Saheli replied. Best solution to get the baby settled in creche and with maid is to go gradual and step by step. And you need to plan this out immediately as you dont have much time in hand.
Caculate some time you think your baby will need to accept creche+maid. Let' s assume 3 weeks for now.And doesnt look like you have hired a maid as of now, but you have found the creche, which is a good thing.
Let' s aim at getting the baby used to creche, as that is one firm option we have in hand right now, and meanwhile, prepare another options. Is your mom still with you? If yes, then enroll the baby in the creche and send your mom with the baby there for full time/for times as needed. Start with sending the baby there for 30 mins or 1 hr or so, with your mom. When grandma is around, baby will play. Grandma will take care of baby, will feed the baby. Repeat this for some days, and ask the creche caretaker to gradually take over the child... increasing the stay duration meanwhile ... descreasing grabdma' s involvement (but not presence). When baby is set caretaker, and grandma is assured that they are taking good care of child, she can start being absent, starting with 10 mins or so (e.g. - sits in another room).
By that time, you can get your maid ans start training her as well. When grandma brings the baby home, the training and transition starts with maid, the same way. Thus, baby will also get used to this new person. Finally, grandma can move out.
If you can work half-day for some days during this period and help in all this (even if it cuts your pay), it will be good. Or, see if you can take a week' s off and get the child transitioned. Or, 15 aug is a holiday and if you can take off in that week, or on 16th and 17th, that can help.
You have so many positive points that there is absolutely no need of tension. Your mom is there, you have found a good creche, it is just 1 km, you are going for creche+maid option, you are seeking suggestions from people at right time - very good planning and prep dear - you are going right way. You need little bit of confidence and everything will be alright. Dont worry too much about the child, he will take some time but will settle down. Happens.
Your office is 12km. You can also drop in once in noon to check things and may be work for an hour extra, say till 7pm. Ask hubby to plan, inform boss, and be at home at 6pm for 2 weeks or so, so that there is coverage from parent. Optionally, see if mom can work 8-5, hubby works 10 to 7, or vicer versa (moms coverage in evening, dad' s coverage in morning) something like that. Its just matter of a month or so, and corporates these days definitely agree to such adjustments for employees' personal problems.
Make regular calls at home and creche to check things are fine. Tell neighbors to keep watch. And you should be all set.
Good luck and keep us updated.
