Eating Problems:2 1/2 year old not eating

Have a 2 1/2 son who has always been a fussy eater (except when I first was weaning him when he ate ok). He eats scrambled egg, oven chips, yoghurts and bread and croissants but very little else and only when he feels like it as he can be very stubborn. He will eat sweets and chocolate no problem but we only offer them ocassionally as treats. Sometimes he will eat an apple but will just chew it for ages then spit it out.
He is very intelligent for his age and is average weight and height and i do give him vitamin syrup and he has 2 or 3 lots of milk per day.
We live in France but he has just returned to England for a couple of weeks while his dad is working there and he has eaten hardly anything at all for the last week as he has been too busy playing with his cousin (who eats well but this does not help). It is very worrying when I am not there. Can anyone offer any advice to pass on please?

Give Yoghurt twice and soft cheese twice besides try variations colorful like carrots beetroots spinach pastas etc.multigrain bread and juices besides milk have timetable and it will work morni 9 B/fast 12 PM lunch 4 pm dinner besides n between juices etc
