Due Date Club December 2005:Advice Please

Hi everyone

Hope you are all doing well. I though I was 10 weeks pregnant today but have been for a scan and have been told I am only 6 weeks. They saw a sac but no fetal pole so I have to go back next week. My periods are very irregular and I am now totally confused. I feel pregnant but thought a fetal pole would have been visible by now. Does anyone know or has anyone had their dates out by so much?

I would be really grateful of some help.

Good luck to all of you with your babies.

Thanks for your reply. I have had a miscarriage before but I bled that tiem so knew there was a problem. I had never heard of this before and on doing some research am thinking it could be a blighted ovum. They didn't do any blood tests which I thought when I came home and thought about it. My periods have onlybeen irregular since the birth of my last child. They are not very bad but I used to be able to set my clock by them at one point. Do you have any knowledge on the blighted ovum and do you think a fetal pole should be visible by 6 weeks?

Hi Dena,

I had similar stituation a few years ago but that was a missed miscarriage. After that I had a normal pregnancy the next year. I know it is scary, I know what u r going thru at this time. But please keep the faith and keep up hope. No matter what happens, there is always next time. Just remember to start with the root of the problem, the irregular cycle. Once u fix that, other things will fall in place.....Good Luck to u and hope everything is ok with you....

Hello Dena,
It's likely to have descrapancy like you see especially when you have history of irregular cycles. This is one confusion always exist when one is irregular with her cycles.

I wish you luck for next appointment. I hope your Dr. has taken the blood and will confirm that hCG amounts are suitable for the 6 weeks gestation.

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
