I think its too early for a 1 year old to give up on bottle. U should continue bottle feeding upto 1.6 - 2 years. My son is around 20 months old and is happy with bottle feeding. Let the child take his own time.

To get rid of feeding bottle habit

It is just a matter of time before he really takes to drinking milk from the glass. Devote an extra 1/2 an hour for feeding him. Ddo not show the feeding bottle. Initally,use a spoon & feed him. Even if he has 1/4 glass of milk, its o.k. Gradually increase the quantity. Play some soothing music in the background. Distract him, so that he forgets about the bottle.
Its in fact not difficult if you sincerely sit with him for 1/2 an hour more.
