Developmental Concerns:please help!

my son was a preemie who weighed only 1.3 kgs at birth and the first 6 months were rough.he is 15 moths old now and has just started to stand. he has been speaking a few words since he was 1.our pediatric neurologist told us that such kids have a low I.Q and have a lot of learning disabilities.though my son seems very bright now, i am worried...please help
