Hi

I am new to the boards and was wondering if any of you ladies are over 30, or 35 and trying to conceive a baby? If so, were you using any birth control prior to TTC and how long have you been trying?

I have two kids, ages 14 and 12 years and my husband and I are trying for a baby. After so long, I am kind of nervous it won't happen. I just came off birth control pills the beginning of NOvember and am due for a period next week. Hopefully I am still fertile like I used to be!! ritika replied. Hi,
I am also 35yrs old and hubby 38yrs and we are thinking to have our 2nd baby next year otherwise it will be very late as we are going towards 40s and I heared that there can be some complcation in late pregnancy.I used OPK but no sucess.I don't know why is it getting late.Neena like u I also got pregnant within 6 months after merriage and it was unexcepted but now as we are planning we are not getting.

I am in Chicago. neena replied. hi,i am also like u all.i am 32yrs old have a son who is 8 yrs old and since 5 cycles trying for another child but in vain,dont know the reason as i am also quite fertile and have periods in between 25-29 days.i concieved my son within 6 mnts after our marriage and it was unplanned ,i was not expecting at that time that i will be pregnant but i became and now after so many yrs decided to have a second one and trying so hard but cant become.in these 8 yrs we were taking care i have never taken pills not used any contraception so i thought as soon as we will have unprotected sex i will become pregnant but things r different.my husband says we will try for few mnts if happens then ok doesn't happen then also no problem.even i dont want to have late as age difference will be more.lets see may GOD shower his blessings on all of us in coming 2005 new year.all the best to all of you! snowbaby replied. Thanks for your reply. I have read many research reports on trying to have a baby after stopping the pill and there is no reason to not try right away -- they actually say you are very fertile right after stopping the pill.

Ritika - don't give up - if you already have a daughter so young, you know there probably isn't a reason you have not conceived yet -- everything has to happen at the exact time! And your efforts never go to waste!

I guess when we want it to be so badly, it is a great disappointment when it is not. I should know next week if I am already pregnant or not. I hope so and of course I will be very disappointed and concerned if I am not because my husband & I try every day!

Because I will be 36 in April - I didn't want to wait 3-4 months before trying -- I am going to the doctor next week and will ask about Clomid or something to help speed up the process. Good luck to all of us! May we all have our little bundles of joy soon. ritika replied. Hi,
I am also trying for my 2nd baby since last 4 month but all in vain.I am 30+ in age and have a 3 yrs old girl.Now we wnt our 2nd baby but all efforts are going waste.I didn't use birth control pill or any contraception but i don't know why am I not getting pregnant.In my first pregnancy i didn't face any problem and easly I concieve.
After stopping birth control pills you have to wait for 3-4 cycles than u can try.

By the name i am assuming you want a xmas baby. You should be o.k try to concieve once you have a period.fIf after 6 cycles you are not concieving than i suggest you see your gyn. It is riske after this age although you may have additional test to do once you have concieved
Please do take care and have a prenatal test to check blood sugar etc before trying
