Health Issues:recurring cough and cold pls. help

Dear friends
My daughter is now 2.5 years old. She was born in India now staying In Qatar with me. She was alright until 3 months ago except some mild cough, cold 4 or 5 times a year which go away with the use of saline drops or expectorant.

3 months ago she got cough and cold when we went to paediatrician, he given antibiotic-betixim-ceflixime telling that she has mucus accumulation in the chest. No other alternative is there. After continous use of 2 courses, she was ok.

Then we went for one day tour with our family friends to sea shore, park etc. after returning home, from the next days onwards she started to cough with sign of nasal congestion. We didn’t cared it that much but during night she was not sleeping due to continuous cough. So went to doctor next morning, who adviced that she had ‘bronchitis’ and given ‘inhaler’ Nasonex(mometasone furoate monohydrate). When we give her this inhaler, after 2 or 3 times of puffing, she becomes alright. We used this inhaler for one week but our parents in India were worried of using inhaler which they says will affect in future. We hesitated to continue it. But her cough or nasal congestion not going for ever, it starts within few days with mild fever, sometimes she cough very badly especially during food time, whenever she takes food in her mouth she is coughing so that it affected her eating also.

When we went back to our paediatrician he given one course of same antibiotic she took 2 times earlier. We gave it but after one course there was no improvement. We also given some antihistamins as per doctor’s advise. When we saw the doctor yesterday he prescribed another type of antibiotic but we didn’t’ go for it. Instead we given her inhaler, after 2 -3 puffs she became alright but still sign of cough and nasal congestion is there. We are giving inhaler now 3 times a day as there is no other way infront of us, If anybody can give good advice it would be great help of our child.

Some friends told us to given her honey and lemon juice a teaspoon daily, we gave these 2 days but there was not improvement and others told me to give blackraisin with sugar which we have not given yet. We have given her saline drops many times but her nose is not clearing. Here not it is very cold, we wont’ go out without proper covering of our daughter. I read in internet that humidifier will soothe the cough, I don’t know more about it. We also thinking to go back to India to see a good homeo doctor. Waiting for some advice

RE: Eczema concern
Hello,

I had a similar query a few months ago concerning eczema occuring in toddlers. As far as I know, it can be due to a varrying number of factors and common foods that end up causing the condition in 1-2 year old toddlers.

In my research I found this article really helpful in addressing the problem:
