Sandya is right. 900-1000 is pretty much a starvation diet plan. You need atleast 1200 to live by. And remember it is not only about the calories but also about what constitutes those calories. If you want to stick to the second plan of 1000 calaries (which is the better of the two) do it gradually. Don' t cut down your calories overnight - you will feel weak and cranky. Cut it down slowly and cut it in the right places. Don' t give up veges for a slice of cake !

Teja, both seem grossly wrong to me unless you are someone who is exceptionally short and don' t need more than 900 cal a day. Both are like starvation diets to me. Living on 900cal is not practical. An avg person on 5' 3\" needs atleast 1500cal to live by. don' t shortchange on nutrients. Divide your portions so each meal has 30% protien, 30% carbohydrates, 20% fat and 20% fiber. However, i' ll go by the logic of the second plan, where you end up taking heavy breakfast, a little lighter lunch and a light dinner. However, if you can' t manage to sleep on a light dinner then switch your lunch and dinner calories and see how that works out. Hope this helps.
