hi

i live in hyd. my 16 month old daughter has been diagnoised has having mild eczema. on her joints at hands &behind knees. i keep reading abt Isonomil and other precuationary methods concerning food.
i havent been particular abt diary products. since she's underweight i give her cheese, curdand butter. its only the past week she's started having 2 oz of whole milk. her doc hasnt told us anything inparticular. egg aggravated her itching so i've stopped it. she ate fish without a prob. i'm really confused abt this. should i continue her routine foodie habits. or do i nneed to o to dermatologist.
moreover i havent seen soya milk here, has anyone come across it here in hyd?
the prob is dual eczema vs under weight child. i'm really concerned b coz she's really fussy abt food. i doubt she'll like any change in her food. as it is she has started milk after 8 months. i'm worried abt her health.
any advice or information is widely appreciated.
thanks

Hi there, I live in california and my baby boy has been diagnosed with mild eczema as well. I prefer using medicine as little as possible. The HOD for pediatric dematology at Stanford hospital recommended two things, one is a prescription medicine called Hydrocortisone ointment USP, 2.5%. Ask your baby's doctor about this and see what he or she thinks. The second one is a regular moistoriser. Infact it is a diaper rash cream as well called \";Aquaphor\";. Brand name is Eucerin. My babys doctor told us to over him with aquaphor ointment when he start itching. It is not that white pasty kind. The doctor told us that it is just a intense moisturiser. See what your baby's doc. says about this as well. The third thing I did was, I stopped using Johnson's baby soap on him and instead use regular oil of olay bathing soap that my husband and I use. That seemed to have helped his skin. I also don't give him a bath everyday, but everyother day. I put baby lotion on him every morning and afternoon when I change him into his pjamas for bed. Another thing that can trigger a eczema attack is dust in the house. For this reason, I always wake up early in the morning to make sure that the house is spotless. I spend a lot of time making sure that the house is spotless, I dust and clean even if the house looks clean :)) Sounds complusive...but I will do anything to make sure that my baby gets the best care. Try these things and see if it helps. They say that certain percentage of babys grew out of eczema. That's why I am doing every thing possible to make sure that my baby is one of them. Oh.one more thing, the prescrption medicine that I told you about. I DONOT use it on regular basis. I use it as little as possible, which basically is hardly ever. The other things seem to help him a lot. I also notice that my baby loses appetite whenever his eczema gets bad. He loses when his eczema gets a bit out of control and seems to gain when it is in control and when he is not very uncomfortable. I am hoping that your bay grows out of her eczema soon. I know how your heart aches to see your baby in misery.
