hi vidhu,
don worry.my daighter is 8 mths now n until she was 4 months she used to pass stools once in 2 days only.sometimes even 3 days.we checked with the doc n he said its absolutely nothing to worry about.there is no probs even if ur baby does not pass stools for 5 days.if he fails to on the 5th day, then u can consier visiting ur pred.and gas probs r common.it will fade out as the baby grows oldr n starts having solids.

Hi Vidhya,

Now that ur baby is 8 months old, give her Prune Juice 1 - 1 1/2 oz everyday. Trust me it will solve the problem. And most Ped recommend this.

Hi Vidhya,
My daughter faced this when she was four months old.I used to boil some dry grapes in hot water and feed her in bottle.
It worked out well.

My daughter also face the same thing...so what I did is \"; pour 6 drops of castor oil in a spoon and mix with 5 drops of milk stir well\"; and give ur daughter every morning until she back to normal.

You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.

Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits. And remember you can safely use baby suppositories as often as you need to (they also help with "training" the baby to do a dirty at the same time every day)... - Su 03 [View Message]
